Maplewood firefighter jobs saved, police jobs extended

Maplewood featured prominently in story about federal stimulus funds reaching main street

Cimino said the department will seek funding to keep the three officers and to fill three more positions that have been left unfilled because of budget constraints. "The cuts may mean that the community will lose its two school resource officers, one at the high school, one at the middle school, and other programs such as DARE," according to the story. Also noted: the township will maintain reciprocal mutual aid relationships with neighboring towns.
